Canyons and Waterfalls
& Secret Lagoon
The Combo Trail
Having a hard time deciding between The Waterfall Trail and The Canyon Trail? Why not do both?
Here we combine the two tours in one 8-11 hour excursion in the Icelandic highlands. Hiking down into the canyon Laxárglúfur of the river Stóra-Laxá. Looking off a cliff to see Iceland’s second highest waterfall Háifoss of 122 meters (400 feet), a stop to see the ruins of Stöng, a Viking settlement farm, experiencing Gjáin, one of nature’s masterpieces, and enjoying the super peaceful and beautiful Hjálparfoss waterfall all in one day will totally rattle your senses.
The guide knows every twist and turn and is able to cruise over the Icelandic highlands on a specially modified super-jeep. This combo tour is an action packed day-long adventure where you will experience extraordinary sights along with getting to spend time with a local guide full of factual information about the area along with folklore and fun stories that might not slip through the polygraph.
The Secret Lagoon After a day on the highlands we strongly recommend warming up at the wonderful Secret Lagoon. Built in a highly geothermal area the Secret Lagoon is a natural pool perfect for recuperating after a long day. The all-natural hot-spring water stays at 38°-40°C (101-104°F). A little geyser that erupts every 5 minutes adds spice to the experience and during some winter evenings the northern light can be amazing.
